About

Leonie Rossall BSc, MCSP

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 from the University of Brighton and have since developed a wealth of experience across Orthopaedics, Palliative Care and Oncology, Neurology, and Neuro‑Musculoskeletal practice. This broad clinical background enables me to support a wide range of client needs with empathy, expertise, and confidence. I am also a qualified Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist.

My physiotherapy approach is holistic and goal‑driven, with a strong focus on maximising independence and enhancing daily function, supporting you to continue living life as fully and comfortably as possible.

I provide my service alongside the NHS where appropriate, tailoring treatment to suit your individual needs and circumstances.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Physiotherapy Services

Initial Assessment

I use comprehensive assessments to understand your needs and functional challenges. I will work with you to establish meaningful, realistic therapy goals and develop a personalised treatment plan to help you achieve them. My aim is to help you regain independence, improve confidence and enhance your overall quality of life.

Your treatment plan will be specific to your individual needs and based on your therapy goals. Treatment options that I provide might typically include:

  • Increasing muscle strength and control through specific functional exercises. I will provide images and videos for home exercise plans.
  • Improving balance, coordination, and mobility (including falls prevention) with postural re-education and advice on walking aids.
  • Teaching cueing techniques to reduce abnormal movement patterns.
  • Providing advice on self-management strategies for your condition, injury, or symptoms.
  • Reducing muscle stiffness, spasms, and pain using massage therapy and soft tissue techniques such as targeted stretching.
  • Offer advice on managing foot drop with orthotics.
  • Improving sensation changes through sensory stimulation exercises/practices.
  • Offer advice on spasticity management and referral to specialist clinics as required.

Neurological Rehabilitation

I provide specialist treatment and rehabilitation for a wide range of neurological conditions, including Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.  My approach is holistic and personalised, focusing on improving  physical symptoms associated with the condition, improving movement patterns, enhancing mobility and function, and improving quality of life.

Physiotherapy treatment is tailored to client goals and physical presentation, and may include hands-on massage/stretching techniques, movement and balance re-education, sensory integration, and strategies to manage fatigue, spasticity and pain. I work collaboratively with client families, carers and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

Post-Operative Physiotherapy

I provide comprehensive assessment and personalised rehabilitation following joint surgery. This includes planned knee and hip replacement procedures, as well as more complex spinal surgeries and trauma‑related operations.

Physiotherapy treatment supports recovery, restores mobility, and helps you regain confidence in movement through an evidence-based approach.

Treatment plans are adapted to your individual goals and can be delivered alongside NHS services if appropriate, ensuring continuity and collaboration throughout your rehabilitation.

Balance and Falls Rehabitation

I believe in a holistic approach to falls and balance rehabilitation. Physiotherapy treatment following a fall includes a comprehensive assessment of the individual and their environment.

Treatment plans might typically include strengthening exercises, balance and coordination exercises, and are aimed at improving your confidence, mobility and future falls risk.

Sports Massage Therapy

Massage and soft tissue techniques provide a wide range of physical, neurological, and emotional benefits, and are increasingly recognised as part of evidence‑based treatment rather than being just a ‘luxury’ treatment.

Techniques help to reduce pain and tension, promote circulation, and support tissue healing. They improve mobility and function by reducing stiffness and restoring soft tissue flexibility, which in turn enhances joint range of movement, physical function and quality of life.

This is particularly valuable for individuals managing long‑term musculoskeletal, neurological, or post‑surgical conditions.

I provide massage therapy and soft tissue treatments to clients in their own homes. Sessions can be delivered using my portable massage chair, a standard chair, or on a bed, depending on your individual needs and comfort.
